"Killers of the Dawn" is the ninth book in "The Saga of Darren Shan" series. In this book:
The story begins immediately after the ending events of "Allies of the Night." Darren, Mr. Crepsley, and Harkat Mulds are trapped by Steve Leonard (the Vampaneze Lord) and his allies. They are accused of the city's murders and are arrested by the police.
